Virginia Wolk Marino

Virginia Marino focuses her practice on all aspects of domestic and global brand protection, copyright, and unfair competition law. Her trademark prosecution and counseling practice includes the acquisition, maintenance, licensing, enforcement, and transfer of intellectual property with an emphasis on the selection and clearance of trademarks. She partners with large and small clients to develop and maintain their global trademark portfolios. As a litigator, Virginia represents clients in civil litigation in federal district court and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board oppositions and cancellation actions and has extensive experience with domain name disputes under the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy. She also regularly assists clients with online intellectual property protection, including web-based trademark protection and vigilance.

Virginia’s counseling practice emphasizes developing and implementing global trademark filing, prosecution, and enforcement strategies and programs, both in the United States and internationally. She also regularly counsels clients on copyright clearance, prosecution, and enforcement issues. Virginia has experience conducting due diligence and intellectual property audits and regularly provides advice on complex licensing and assignment issues.

Virginia has significant experience managing global enforcement actions and also has extensive in-house experience, as she was previously seconded to Accenture as in-house trademark counsel. Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Virginia was a shareholder at Brinks Gilson & Lione.
